Competition Time!
Check out the latest on our BJDC competitions…time to let your imaginations flow! We’ve got 3 competitions this year…a BJD Costume Contest, a BJD Diorama Contest, and a BJD Photography Contest!
Awards will be given for first, second and third place in each category. AND an overall PEOPLE’S CHOICE Award will be given from favorite of all categories.! It is possible to win a “place” award in a category AND the People’s Choice award.
*All entrants will be asked to sign up for the competition when registering on Thursday June 19th and to declare your category. Entrants may enter one of the three costume categories AND the category 4 Diorama category.
If you have any questions about the category of your entry, the competition coordinator, will discuss with you the appropriate category.

Ladies and Gentlemen! Step Right up to the BJD Costume Contest and competition! “The Greatest Show on Earth” is the 2025 convention theme and is open to your interpretation. We want you to let your imagination capture the sights, thrills or spectacular performances of the Circus! The costume competition is divided into three categories because we want everyone to participate!
•Category 1- Outfit completely designed and made by you
•Category 2- Outfit made by you using someone else’s pattern OR designed by you but made by someone else
•Category 3- Outfit both designed and made by someone else but put together by you
You must be an attendee to participate in this contest. One BJD Costume entry per attendee.
If you use someone else’s designs/patterns/work, please credit the designer/maker. All dolls must be properly supported. You may have no more than 2 dolls in an entry (couples, etc.) Please limit your presentation to a 24” square. Use of props is allowed to enhance costumes. Entries must be dropped off to the competition room on Game Night, June 20th between 6:00-6:30 for judging that evening. All judging is done by the attendees!
Winners will be announced at the Final Banquet!

The theme for the diorama competition is “The Greatest Show on Earth!” and is open to your interpretation. Come One, Come All!! What is your favorite part of the show?? We want you to let your imagination take you to the many wonders of the world.... whatever and where ever your imagination chooses! Again, anything goes!
Category 4 -Diorama completely designed and put together by you (structure, furniture, accessories) using any elements you like.
You must be an attendee to participate in this contest. One BJD Diorama entry per attendee. All judging is done by attendees!
If you use someone else’s designs/work, please credit the designer/maker. If you have a doll(s) in the diorama, they must be properly supported. Please limit your presentation to a 24” X 36” area. No electrical outlets are available. Lighting is ok if you have battery operated lights.
Entries must be dropped off to the competition area on Game Night, June 20th between 6:00-6:30 for judging that evening. Winners will be announced at the Final Banquet!

The contest is open to photographers around the globe-- both attendees and non-attendees are welcome to submit their photos!
The theme of the 2025 convention is “The Greatest Show on Earth” and is open to your interpretation.
Rules:
• Subject of the photo must be a BJD. More than one BJD can be used in each photo. No recasts.
• No photos of a sexual, violent, obscene or inappropriate nature are permitted.
• Submissions should be high resolution with at least 300 dpi and submitted in a .jpeg or .tiff format. Please do not include any watermarks or signatures on your photo.
• Entrants can enter once, so choose your best photo for submission.
• Submissions must be the work of the photographer who submits the photo. and cannot have been previously published or entered in another contest.
• A winner will be chosen for first, second and third place.
• Winners receive publication of their photo in the BJDC 2025 Souvenir Book and recognition online via social media. Winners will also receive their own copy of the BJDC 2025 Souvenir Book.
• By submitting a photo, entrants agree to have their photo published online on our website, social media, and our Souvenir Book should the photograph be chosen as a winner.
• Contest is open from March 1 to May 31, 2025. All entries must be received electronically by May 31st at midnight CST. Winners will be announced at the BJDC 2025 Convention and via social media, not before.
To enter, send your photo(s) via email to bjdcphotocontest@gmail.com. For each submission, provide the following information:
• Your Name, Address and Contact email
• Sculpt (s): The sculpt of your doll or dolls in the photo
• Description: A brief description of your photograph. Please keep your description to under 200 words.
